Greening of jeans production through sustainable washing by means of dry ice irradiation

The DD Garment succeeds in developing the project of a sustainable and ecological washing of jeans or garments made of denim fabrics by means of dry ice irradiation within a year.

At the research center in Munich, the team of co-founder and technical director Raphael Rotstein has developed the machine of DD Garment so far that it can be used for smaller series. "We are convinced that our development can positively influence the fashion industry and the jeans market in Europe and other parts of the globe." says mechanical engineer Raphael Rotstein.

In sustainable clothing and textile production, however, not only the washing of denim fabrics but also the material itself is of utmost importance, as e.g. is given to hemp materials that require significantly less water for production than conventional cotton, even if it is organic cotton.

DD Garment continues to work on changing textile production towards sustainability and greening. It should also be noted, however, that consumers in particular can significantly influence a truly profound greening of the clothing and textile industry through their buying behavior. Who thinks "green" should act accordingly.
